Hale, John Parker
(31 mar. 1806, Rochester, N.H., EE.UU.–19 nov. 1873, Dover, N.H.).

Político y reformador estadounidense. Se desempeñó en la Cámara de Representantes (1843–45), donde se destacó por su oposición a la esclavitud. En el Senado (1847–53, 1855–65), patrocinó un proyecto de ley que abolía los azotes en la armada. En 1852 fue candidato presidencial, sin éxito, por el Partido Free Soil. Volvió al Senado como republicano y llegó a ser dirigente de ese partido. Luego ocupó el cargo de representante diplomático de EE.UU. en España (1865–69).
